A typical Shiatsu session will last about an hour, to include discussion time before and after the treatment. Before your first session, Rose will send you a New Client Health Form. This is to be completed as fully as possible so Rose can assess your treatment requirements and to get a general picture about you. The patient normally lies on the floor supported on a shaped body cushion on a padded mat (futon) and remains fully clothed. Treatment positions may be on your front (prone), back (supine) or on your side depending upon comfort and your treatment requirements.
A stool may be used if it is too difficult for people to get down on to the floor and back up again. This will also be used for neck and shoulder treatments.
At the end of each session you will be offered advice to further benefit your treatment experience. This advice may be diet, exercise or lifestyle based.
Some people may feel a little light headed at the end of a treatment. This is nothing to be worried about and will pass after a few minutes. It may be worth allowing yourself and extra 10 to 15 minutes extra time before driving off.
Rose is able to offer other treatments such as Chinese Cupping, Moxabustion or Acupuncture. Any of these may be incorporated within your Shiatsu session.

Shiatsu Do-In Exercise Classes – £60 for block of 5 sessions
These weekly classes are on Zoom on a Thursday morning. They are my unique blend of Chinese Qi Gong, Japanese Makka-Ho and Yoga movements and stretches. They are done in blocks of 5, themed on the Chinese Five Elements depending on the time of year, for instance we look at Wood energy in the Spring and Fire in the Summer. Each class is introduced with a little theory followed by a warm-up routine, an example of this is shown in the YouTube clip. We then spend about 45 mins of themed exercises and stretches followed by 10 minutes relaxation / meditation. These classes are suitable for anyone, of any age, able to do easy yoga or pilates and are a great way to look after your health, mobility and core strength. If you are unable to attend a session then you can catch up with the recording at a later time.
